Hey Guys,

People often ask about a walkthrough of my process, so here it is. Thought I would put up a little step by step detailing how to create a cover or pin-up for DC comic for example 
Fist thing to do is choose your tools correctly. Because this is the pencil progress, I prepare all art tools that I use everyday.
Thanks to my sketch pencil, mechanical pencil, ruler and eraser. And my secret weapon NEADED RUBBER ERASER. (I think everybody already know that thing
I will make this as simple that I can.
Here we go:
Step 1- PRELIM- This, to me, is the most important part because you’re setting the groundwork for everything else after this. Use your sketch pencil. Make some idea about what you’re going to do. Just draw the thumbnail version. That means you just have to draw your idea in small piece. Draw your 3-4 idea in thumbnail version. Until you feel satisfied. Just make sure you already put everything in your drawing. My idea is drawing the wonder woman and her amazons in Paradise Island. In this case with Donna troy and Cassie Sandsmark, aka Wonder Girl. I really enjoy drawing super heroines in DC Comics Character.

Step 2- PENCILS SKETCH- In this case I scanned the layout into my computer and blew it up to the size of standard comic board in Photoshop which is 10.5” X 15.75”. I then print it out and lightbox trace the image onto my comic board using sketch pencil. Use the hard pencil to make this sketch very lightly on the page. I prepared use H or HB pencil. Some people maybe choose to use a non-photo blue pencil in this step. That is only a matter of habit according to my opinion.
Once I have the rough placement of the characters on my board I get to the main task at hand which is making sure my anatomy is correct and adding all the little details that will make this art looking great.

Step 3- PENCILS DETAIL- Never afraid to change your anatomy if you thing that will help you build more expression in your art. Remember, this is only pencil step. You have the eraser to help you fix a thing. Choose your eraser. Some bad eraser can make your art dirty. This is why you have to choose your tools correctly. I am still use H or HB pencil in this step. And remember, this is very importance to have reference which last for drawing your figure. Use every material that will help you…..pay attentions with the detail of your figure. So even also with the background and setting in your art.

Step 4-SECRET WEAPON – I call this step is a secret weapon. After your finished with the lay out. I use my RUBBER ERASER to erase some lightly sketch. This tool doesn’t make all of your pencil clean from your paper board. They leave the line sketch for you to trace once again with 2B pencil. This is always working for me……..I can create so many line with the sketch pencil without have to afraid my board become dirty . That’s why I called this my secret weapon. You should try this some times.
And I begin use my mechanical pencil in this step. You can choose this pencil from 0.35mm or 0.5mm to 0.7mm to make final lines. I’ll use a variety of this pencil to make difference lines depending on what I need them for.

Steps 5-DETAIL- continue your progress with replace the sketch line with detail…detail…and detail. Make sure your art look nice and clean. That’s I am always trying to do….
Though it’s not the same procedure every time I draw (I sometimes alter the steps and change the order) it shows a bit of how I’m working...

It may not be a professional way…… I just learned from experience and by trying out different techniques (... and still doing that ...)

Remember…. I don't want to try to say this is the only and best way to draw. it's just a method I use sometimes, and I enjoy seeing how other artists create their work, so I thought I would put this up and maybe it will be interesting for some people ^^
